I have been an artist since 1967 and even wanted to be an artist about 10 years before that! The earlier oil paintings shown here in the lower parts of the gallery were almost all painted by me within a span of ten years between 1972 – 1982. Included here in the upper part except for "The Creator" and "Discovery Island" are some of my newer mixed-media paintings, many of which have been published as posters, jigsaw puzzles, calendars and metal signs by various different companies. The mixed-media paintings were created by me since about the year 2008 or so and I have enjoyed working on them very much. Not only are they an entirely new and different style for me to do but they have also opened up many new avenues for publishing my art. I plan to create many more of these types of paintings in the future so I hope you enjoy them as much as people seem to enjoy my earlier oil paintings. Those earlier paintings here mostly in the lower part of the gallery were done by me during a very productive period in my life as far as oil painting goes. I had just left art school in 1972 feeling very unfulfilled in a creative sense, I wanted to let loose with my art more and follow my inner vision and explore my own imagination at the time. Around 1974 I met a man named Peter Ledeboer of Big O posters U.K. Who was publishing big colorful posters from the artists Roger Dean, Rodney Matthews, Mati Klarwein, Martin Sharp and many others. Peter really liked what I was doing and asked if he could publish my work as posters too. The result from those early efforts and following into my Big O poster years are pretty much what you see here in the lower part of the gallery. Many of these paintings were published by Big O as posters and post cards in the 70's and then later on many were reproduced again by others as posters, jigsaw puzzles, greeting cards, calendars, book covers and prints which they still are to this day. Since that time in my life I have remained very creative in art but lesser so now in oil painting and I prefer to focus more on the Photoshop and mixed-media created work.
I hope you enjoy these paintings of mine (new or old style) and they help bring some inspiration, wonder, beauty, peace and happiness into your life...That's why I created them!
